HTC Inspire - Calendar- can we change the icons?

Calendar- can we change the icons?

I like the built-in calendar (I'm guessing it's an HTC app? It just says "Calendar", with no publisher mentioned). One small problem- when you open a future day to enter an event, the default icon for that day always says "15" on it. I just KNOW I'm going to mess up one day and think I'm on the 15th, instead of looking at the text which has the correct date on it.

Anyone else notice this? Anything I can do about it, other than download a new calendar app?

Without rooting and hacking the phone, you can't change that icon.

Thanks, now do I take it from your response that if I do root the phone, I WILL be able to change that icon? (without changing anything else)

What is this calendar app that I have? Is it HTC, or Google Calendar, or what?

If it's HTC, is there a generic Android/Google calendar app that I could replace this with?

As I said, you would have to hack the app. That requires some technical skill.

Not sure if the calendar is HTC or google made. I know it is a google calendar though. And yes there are other calendars on the market. Strange that you would need another app because of the icon.

Playing with the app it is definately in HTC Sense format, but it is connected to Google calendar. I see what you mean with the icon saying the 15th, but if you look right above it, it has the correct date. once you click on the add event icon, it is also the correct date.

I use CalWidget on my Droid 2 and like that layout.
