Just wanted to let others know of this website i just found for good, free icons:

Other sites I tried were confusing, or just not organized in a way that was helpful.  This site's search really helped me a lot.  I didn't have to first pick an icon pack, then scroll through 150 icons to find one i like, then pick another pack, repeat.  They even had icons of a Nikon camera, and Canon too.

Reminder:  You need to save the 128x128 ".png" version of the icon you want on your phone.
So when you find an icon you like, click the thumnail or click "download as png" and then select the "128x128 px"
(correction - i'm not sure what the resolution requirements are, but 48x48 was blurry on my phone.  i am using the 128x128 resolution for icons.  some are not available any larger than 64x64)

Ahh I wish you posted this a couple days ago!! I just downloaded a bunch of icon packs but couldn't find many good high quality ones.

But these look awesome! Need some icons for my apps organizer folders! Thanks!

yeah, the icon thing was bothering me too.   i been looking around for good ones for the last week and just kept finding crap.  or you had to DL the entire pack just to see if there were any that you wanted.  I only wanted like 4 icons: one for video, photography, reading, calling/phone apps.  

A lot of the icons in the market are very iPhone looking, which just means "rounded square, monochrome tiles with minimalist tendencies".   Blah!

And there are just too many icon websites with way too many packs to go through.  The search feature really saves the day on iconspedia.   They don't have a whole lot of icons to choose from, but at least you can navigate it, lol.   And you can DL just the single icon you want, instead of a whole pack.  That's great.

Absolutely! I know most of the icon packs on the market are for launcher programs, for people who want a uniform set of icons, so it's somewhat understandable. But when you just want a few icons it's not desirable at all.

And yeah using the site to dl a few icons is much better than getting entire packs and using one or two icons from them. And they are much better quality than most of the icons on the market.

Sucks that the "messages" and "email" icons, if changed, won't show the notification of how many texts or emails you've received on the newly created icon...

So, I downloaded an icon. It is in my GALLERY under DOWNLOADS.
When I wend to download the .png file, my phone popped up an error message that says that the format is not supported on the phone. Does the same thing with mp3's.
How do I assign the icon to something on the homepage?

Download "Desktop Visualizer," run it, select the .png, select what you want it to open, name it, and it'll put the shortcut on your home screen. Easy peasy!  =0)

Mike,  thanks for mentioning Desktop visualizer.  I might use that for some individual apps.
I been migrating from Apps Organizer to Folder Organizer lately for grouping apps.

Sup guys, I have gone icon crazy, and I wanted to replace the EasyTether icon. But guess what? I couldn't find anything cool enough! So, I created my own.

Hope you guys like it and use it!!!

I downloaded and opened the original icon in photoshop, then found a pic of our phone. Changed size of original icon to 128x128. Copied and pasted, re-sized the phone pic to match the size of the one in the original icon. Saved (.png). =0)
