The good news is that there are many more options.

The bad news is that it requires a complete uninstall - reinstall.  Also, there is no widget.

The uncertain news is whther it works better.  I'll try to let you know what I observe.

I'm having mixed feelings about it. On one hand, it gives me more things to tweak. I enjoy tweaking. Smiley The new interface is logical.

But, I really liked the old widget.

I suppose the important thing is if it extends battery life better.

I just noticed that. It didn't show up in widgets for a while, here. Don't know why, but I'm glad it's there.

So far, so good, but for some reason, it isn't "preferring wifi". I'll have to check my settings again.

This is how I have it set.

What happens is that the phone when I open the screen, goes straight to 3G.  There does not appear to be a prefer wifi option in the 3G section.  I may have to contact the developer.

On a good note, it appears to be saving more juice than the older version.  Of course, that's probably because it isn't enabling wifi. Undecided

It isn't a critical issue, but it appears that the 3G connection is being initiated in less than a second.  I timed the wifi connection and it connects to my n router in far less than 10 seconds.

It worked with the old version.  I also rebooted just to see if that had any effect, but it didn't.

Still, in case anyone is concerned, this is a very minor glitch I'm experiencing.  Everything else works fine.  I'll probably discover it's user error. Grin

I'll contact the developer and see what response I get.

EDIT:  Ok, I just got ready to ask about the problem on the developer's site.  I lit up my Inspire because I wanted to be certain of the version number before posting.  So what happens?  It comes up connecting to my wifi.  I think I hear the Twilight Zone theme playing in the background. Shocked

Will someone please smack me upside the head.  I shouldn't expect Juice Defender to behave contrary to what I configured,  I read the color coded buttons backwards. Cry

ROTFLMAO!!!

I learned three things.

If you configure it to react a certain way for one set of events and a different way for the applications you are running, the results may not be what you expect.

Just because Windows greys things out when they are inactive, don't expect grey to mean the same elsewhere.

Enabling the full log in JD will tell you not only what it did, but why, so you can fix things.

I choose advanced, Mobile Data enabled(green), Options prefer wifi (blue), Schedule Enabled (GREEN0, freq 30M, duration, 2M, Controls default.

Is this reasonable?  Any other suggestions??

Thanks
