Netflix for Android

I saw somewhere a post that said you could run netflix on your android phone. But you would have to root it.

I managed to download the app and install it on my phone  (my phone is not rooted), even thought the market won't let me.

I found a download for the .apk file and used Android Injector instead of a sideloader (is android injector a sideloader?).

I got excited when it (the Netflix app) let me log in. It even showed my shows in the cue. It went as far as letting me choose which episode of "24" I wanted to watch.

I "clicked" play, and to my dispointment it stated "your device is not supported". On their website netflix.com/netflixreadydevices   it shows the Htc evo 4g as a compatible device.

How can the Inspire not be? We might need to protest! Does anyone share my frustration?

It seemed like they were planning on adding more phones.  If not Im going to be pissed, and I will send them an angry email.  I wont cancel my service though, because I love netflix.

What is "backup your build.prop"?  Is this something you do on a rooted Inspire?  danjss said his phone is NOT rooted.  I too was able to use Android Injector to install Netflix.  The app opens but it will not stream. 

I do NOT get the "unsupported device" message.  Instead, I simply get a loading screen for a few seconds then the app stops trying and goes back to the home page.  AARRRRGGHH!!!  So close yet so far.
