   The App description says Slingplayer mobile doesnt support Slingbox classic, AV and Tuner but they may work with some configurations.
   I have the slingbox classic and it does work but skips a bit here and there. Might need to upgrade. Cry

Does slingbox work over WiFi? And if it does, do you guys know if it will work well if I use my neighbor's internet and get about 60% on my ps3?

I'm sitting at work eating breakfast and watching Saving Grace on my Inspire from my DirecTV box at home.  It's over 3G and streaming almost flawlessly.  A little hesitant at first, but now it is very smooth.

It gave me the disclaimer that it might not stream from my "older" Slingbox AV, but no problem.

The controls take a little figuring out, but I got everything to work.

It's too cool!

Edit:  The hesitancy I've discovered is when I'm sending commands back to the DirecTV receiver.  It streams fine when I'm watching it.  Any time I change channels or bring up a menu, the video stops for a half second or so.

So... What's the best, the solo, hd,... Is the HD one really necessary? Can I watch my HD channels without it? (I mean with the SOLO one)

I've got an AV too..I hope this one works out for you.  I'm still hesitant to try it out.

Went out and got a Pro HD yesterday and hooked it up. It was relatively easy to hook up. I got the picture up working no problem on my computer and phone, but unfortunately my cable box is not 100% compatible with slingbox and it does not recognize my remote control and I will not be able to change channels. Returning it tomorrow. The picture did work well though.

I was origianlly trying to find it on the Slingbox website (silly me).  I searched for "Slingbox" on the Android market and found it.

Still no love for meSad. I'm not finding slingplayer or slingbox in the marketplace.  This is a critical app for me.  I chose to switch from iPhone for sling and tethering.  At the time I didn't know that tethering was +$30 a month without rooting.  I hope I don't have to switch back to the evil empire.

I did a little looking around and found where to get the Android app from either the Slinbox website or the Android market.

Both methods require you to:

1) Attach the Slingbox to a network and your Cable box/DirecTV box/DVR whatever.
2) Configure the Slingbox from step 1 with the latest drivers and etc found on the install disk.
3) Setup an account the Slingbox website and attach the Slingbox to it.
4) Install the Slingbox Android app on your phone.
6) Run the Slingbox Android app on your phone, log into the account to view and control your connected device.

Obtain the Android app for Slingbox (called Slingplayer) by one of 2 methods

Method 1 - On your phone

Go to the Android Market
Click the magnifying glass and type in "Slingbox" (no quotes)
Click on the only app that shows up in the search (Slingplayer)
Install

Method 2 - From your PC (download the Android app for your phone)

Click this link (Slingbox)
Download the app to your PC
Move it to your phone and install it (I haven't installed an app on my phone that was downloaded on my PC, but there are threads that cover that)

The app costs $29.99 and works on my Slingbox AV (which they say might not work, but does for me).  It will work on the Slingbox Solo, which is pretty much the same as the AV, but a newer model. It also works on some other newer models, but I don't know what they are off the top of my head.  Their websit lists them.

This is accurate to my limited knowledge.  If you have any problems, I will help if I can.
