The site has a sign that says Slingplayer for mobile coming for android
http://www.slingbox.com/get/android-signup[/url]
I know they have it out for the Ipod.  The main reason I am leaving the Palm Pre is because they were supposed to come out with a slingplayer for Palm Pre, but instead came out with one for the Ipod.  I watch my slingbox from whereever I am on my computer (except from work because the government has those ports closed).

I am with you - I WANT MY SLINGLAYER ON MY PHONE!

Hook up a slingbox to one of the tv's in your house - probably one that you do not use a lot
Hook up to cable
Load slingplayer on your laptop
Set up your user info
You leave the cable box on (TV doesn't have to be on, just the cable box)
Travel and go to a hotel room with your laptop.
You can either watch off your laptop or plug laptop into TV so you see the big picture
Click on the slingbox player on the laptop
You can get either a program guide or a remote control
Once you get picture, you can change channels and watch whatever you want.  Look at the program guide to see what is on you cable and change the remote control

I do not have direct TV but I would imagine it would work the same way

I am really pumped about watching slingbox on my yet to be new Inspire.  I purchased a used Slingbox AV (which might not stream to a mobile device) and it works great.  I can watch and control my DirecTV (live or recorded) as if I was in the room.  It will turn it on and off, change channels, set programming anything you can do in the room, you can do from either on my local network with a loaded app or from anywhere on the internet (except my work that blocks it).  So when they come up with an app for the Inspire I'll be able to watch in my downtime at work or anywhere.  Cool

If it turns out the Slingbox AV doesn't stream to a mobile device, I'll get a used Slingbox Solo that does.  I have two DirecTV receivers anyway.  One for me, one for the kid!

I have this app right now for my iPhone and I love it.
I am retiring my iPhone to get a Inspire and I cant wait.
One of the first things I did was check out the list of Android apps first to see if Sling Player was there. I am happy because I understand it should be available soon.
When it first got released to the iPhone, AT&T crippled it by making work WiFi only!
It would not work on a 3G connections unless you jailbroke your phone.
Thankfully they lifted that restriction after a while. I hope Sprint doesnt do that to us.
I have the SlingBox HD. The picture quality on the iPhone was very standard broadcast looking. By no means was it hd, but it also wasnt poor.  I could change the live tv channel and completely control my Tivo from the app.

Once you use Slingplayer for Android, you will never use Sprint TV again. LOL.
Its pretty cool being at the gym etc and watching whatever your Tivo has recorded, no matter if it protected shows (like from HBO) or a special sporting event. As long as your Tivo can output the signal, it will appear on your SlingPlayer.
I should also point out another neat feature of the SlingBox ProHD. It has a Video Input, so I can plug any old camera into it, and using my SlingPlayer software, watch that camera from anywhere!
Its the best nanny/security camera you could ask for. Smiley
