Does anyone know of a way to get the YP mobile app to default to Google Navigation instead of ATT Navigator when pressing the Directions button in the app? I use this app constantly but I'm tired of trying to remember the address and manually enter it into Google Maps to get directions. I don't now and will never subscribe to ATT Navigation. Thanks.

Try this. Settings, manage apps, AT&T Navigator, and clear defaults. then go to Y mobile and look for something and ask for directions. It should open a box that gives you a choice of AT&T Navigator or Google Maps, select the box below choices to always use and click the app you want.

I tried that but it still goes to ATT Navigator. It seems like ATT set the default to Navigator and it can't be changed. I hit the clear defaults button in Navigator but it doesn't clear them. Guess I'm just stuck with it or I could root.

That was the first app I deleted once rooted.  ATT actually began to charge me for their "premium" services $9/month without my permission. When I called them on it they said "yeah, we usually do that as standard practice to give our customers a chance to experience it.  If you do not want it we can reimburse you"... idiots.

Keep track of your bill...

I un installed the updates and un checked auto download for it in the play store. Haven't ever had it do that. Maybe it's an updated version causing the issue

I have that issue too.  I think yellow pages must be sponsored by ATT.  That is my only guess.  I have tried the uninstalling and re installing  of various apps and clearing the defaults under att navigator. Keeps resetting as default for some apps.

I sent an email to the yp mobile support crew and just got an answer back thanking me for the feedback and telling me to make sure I look for yp mobile app updates in the future. It kind of looked like a canned response but maybe they are looking into it. I love the app and will keep using it, just wish it wouldn't default to att navigator.

I solved it. You have to change the default app association. Go to settings...applications...app associations. Then you need to go to 2 places. First go to Physical Address  and change it to Maps, then go to Map Address and change it to Maps. Both of these were previously defaulted to ATT Navigator on my phone. I changed them and Voila! the YP app brings up Google maps and Navigation when I press the Directions button in the app.   Smiley
