Looks like Gameloft just released their "Try & Buy" concept. I can dig the fact that it let's you download a demo before offering you the choice to either buy or delete the game:

They also posted a YouTube video with the tutorial:

Anybody try this? How limited are the demos? Are you able to play the full game for a limited ammount of time, or does it let you play as much as you want, but only one or two levels?

I'm downloading NOVA right now.  It's a 8.4mb download initially.  Then you have to download an additional 80mb(!)  I'll post some details later.

Please do... 80MB on a smartphone... dang! I hope you're running that off of wifi or 4g at least wink

Actually, even on 3G, this will download pretty quick.

I figured you might say that, I am noticing a faster download speed with my Inspire vs my 8330 Curve and you would think it would be just as fast (the 3g not the phone) but I guess the phone's experience only hinders that.

I've been meaning to try NOVA, as well.  Cool they're doing it this way.  At least if I don't like it, I can bail on it Smiley

Slight sidetrack here, but we noticed a major difference in data speeds between our Curve's and our Inspire's here too. Our thinking, though not confirmed, just speculation, was BB hardware limitations actually bottlenecking the data, or something with BIS/BES bottlenecking. Since we lost our net/data when BB servers went down, not Sprint's, the data apparently filters through them for everything, hence slowing it down. Sad

Back on target... hope they release some decent quick "fluff" games. I'm still looking for a "Dinner" game for my boyfriend and I while we're out and waiting to be seated.

Never thought about the BIS/BES, good point!

As far as games though I kinda like the free teeter game the Inspire came with, but not sure you want to be seen doing weird things with your Inspire because you aren't touching the screen, instead you're MOVING the whole phone Tongue

I have yet to even look at games yet.

moderncombat sandstorm now out for Inspire  dont buy it through your phone though gamelofts wap site is charging 6.99 for it. if you buy it through the normal site its 4.99 makes no sense. but its finally out.

Hmm

I just checked out GAmeloft, was almost about to say where's all the Android games... but I found those.

I looked up "gameloft" on appbrain and found some interesting contradictions as the above poster said

Uno on Appbrain is $2.99 but at Gameloft its $4.99 are they exactly the same version? Google allows 24hrs to try, does Gameloft?

This may be a dumb question, but when you download the 80mb, does it go to the phone memory or to the sd card?

of the gameloft games i have played, i'd rank them as such.

1. Asphalt (had the basic version on my Moment, then got the HD version on my Inspire and it's awesome!)
2. Let's Golf (got addicted on an i-device, had to have it on android, but it gets bogged down for whatever reason.)
3. Assassin's Creed (loved the PS3 game, but this was too limited in story)
