I haven't downloaded psx4droid yet, but I can't wait! Anyway, that's a step by step procedure to make sure everything is in the right format.

You have NO idea how excited I am to finally be able to play Crash Bandicoot on my phone wink I'll give an update on how things are running once I finish this process. (Stupid "authorization" message -_-)

I clicked purchase about an hour ago got a emailed receipt and it is still saying authorizing purchase.  I canceled it and clicked install in the market and its saying authorizing purchase how long did the people that downloaded this have to wait?

That's happened before in the past, just try and wait it out. I've heard over 24 hours, in rare cases.

In other news, I got it and it's working. #1 rule for me is don't even try it with sound. It's impossibly choppy. Also, don't forget to go into options and make sure multitouch is CHECKED. That's kinda important. As for gameplay, I've played Crach Bandicoot 2 and CTR. They're both a little laggy, but not totally unplayable. If you're looking for a blazing transition from console to phone like the nesoid family, you aren't going to find it. If you're willing to deal with a little bit of slowdown, or impress your friends with "OMG MY PHONE CAN PLAY PLAYSTATION GAMES" then you should get it.

Inn CTR I tried out a time trial. While my cart didn't load except for the wheels (An issue I blame the ROM for and not the phone), the lag seemed a bit more bareble. And the scenery seemed to look perfectly fine to me. So I'm quite happy with that one.

As for where to get the roms, I recomend www.emuparadise.org. Some of them already came in the needed format with no conversion needed. Others had to be unzipped from .7z or rar files. Only once this far have I needed the ecm converter.

I hope this helps, it took me a long time.  Once you find and unzip your roms they will most likely be in an ecm format.  You need to download a program that changes the ecm into a bin format.  The confusing part was once I downloaded the ECM Conversion program I couldn't figure out how to use it.  Now I know.  There will be a UNECM.EXE (google it) program that you have to drag your rom into and then drop it into it.  It will then spit out a bin file called data.  Just rename it to whatever the game title is and put it in your PSX4DROID folder on your sd card.  Don't click on the UNECM program (there is also a ECM.exe in the zip-don't use that one), just drag and drop the rom into in and it will spit out the correct rom on your desktop.  Also remember to put the SCH1001.bin (google it) on your sd card too.  The emulator needs it to run, similar to how the GBA emulator works.  Hope this helps.  So far FF7, Parasite Eve, Resident Evil, and Legend of Legaia all work.

One other issue, I had the same problem with google checkout so I used a website called slideme.org.  It was referred to me by the developer of the PSX4Droid.  Worked like a charm, it's just like the android marketplace.

yeah, I used slideme to download it, and it worked perfectly  Grin

I have a question though...I was playing FF7, and I have all 3 of the discs in separate bin files. When I do eventually reach disc 2, will i even be able to play it, since you needed a memory card on the ps1 to load up the other discs?

downloaded and it requires you to find the bios file on the net. What the hell? this thing should come complete.

gbaroid made you find the BIOS online, too. I'm sure there's some legal reason or something holding them back, as nobody in their right mind would do something like that out of laziness.

Little Update-Legend of Legaia freezes during hyper attacks and Castlevania Chronicles freezes at title screen.  Resident Evil Series seems to be working fine, just getting used to controls.

(tl;dnr= set screen refresh rate to 30.)

Take back everything I said about lag because I had no clue what I was doing then, and was using default settings. Silly me.

Menu < Settings < Screen Refresh rate

Default = BAD (According to me and my priorities XD)

I set mine to 30, which seems to make everythign run the fastest. And this will be noticable immediatly. I was playing CTR (a racing game) and as soon as I resumed the match, everything went so much more like the origional. Crash 2 and Spyro 2 actually made me feel like the levels were totally playable. To be blatently honest, I don't know what this setting fully does or what gets taken away from us in turn for better speed, but I don't care. With the lag it origionally had, anything was worth an improvement, especially of this magnitude.

EDIT: Also gives dramatic sound improvement. Still not perfect, but bareable now depending on the game.

I wish they would make it a 360 degree control instead of up down left right.
