Now daily I get: 'congratulations you won' notifications. Where is this coming from? Is there a way to get rid of this for the future so it won't come back? Is it spam or a possible virus? I am careful about downloading reliable apps but when they are free sometimes there are ads. Can that be the  problem? Appreciate you response & help. Thanks

It is spam.  It is something that is probably part of a recent app you installed. What apps have you installed right before this notification started happening?

Beore you install apps make sure you read the full description in the market.  Also check the reviews by other people.  I had a voice changer app installed one time that once a day I got stupid notifications.  I uninstalled it.

What were your recent apps?  I could research them for you.

I too, have been getting these annoying notifications. At first it was telling me I had won like a $250 Walmart gift card, so I deleted the Walmart app. But I'm STILL getting them, plus others! How can I find out which app may be causing this so I can uninstall it??

Also, I clicked on the 'unsubscribe' link from the Walmart ad, & it took me to a page that wanted my email address to unsubscribe. If the ads are showing in my phones notification bar, why would they need my email addy???

If it is still coming up in notifications then an app causing it is still installed.

Or.....I am not sure how this works but try this. Open up the market.  Then hit the menu button and then settings.  There is something new called Google adMob Ads.  See if you have that checked in the market settings. Maybe that is where your notifications are coming from.

So these ads are coming in as notifications and not sms messages?  What apps do you have installed? And I mean all the apps that you have installed.  I will research them for you.

Or better yet, go to the main settings > applications > running services and let me know what is running.  For this app to be giving random notifications it has to be running all the time.

These are airpush apps  You need a Airpush detecter to detect the apps than uninstall them yourself
