I have repeatedly tried to get some type of reasonable response from the HTCsense.com website. All I get is a reply... sorry we have been overwhelmed & do not know when we can fix the problem. Does anyone know what is going on? I really would like to have the added experience they toutas being part of the HTC "holistic expereince", "of dashboard connected services".

duh,... Sorry... I can not log into the HTCsense website. When I first got my phone I registered & created an account. I have since tried repeatedly to log into the HTCsense website or "Dashboard services" & gotten the message, "We could not connect to your device to get its location at this time. We will update the location next time your device connects to the Sense services." I have selected my country location & connected to the HTC hub, but when I try to download a tip calculator, from my phone, in tells me "Unable to connect to HTC Sense server. Please try again later." I really liked the fact that, if I lost my phone, I could track it's whereabouts, erase the phone, forward calls & messages, make the phone ring, & lock the phone through the resources of a "reliable" company. Does anyone know what is going on?

Since I don't have the same version of Sense and, therefore, don't have access to same website, I can't really offer much advice or troubleshooting. Hopefully, someone will be able to help you.

As far as the rest, though, I'd highly recommend you look into Lookout Security. Extremely reputable and works flawlessly for people who have used it (including people who have been able to track and recover their stolen phones, as well as law enforcement).

I got the same message yesterday.  Today it told me to refresh and it worked to within about 200'.  I'm in a basement and I put the phone by a window so I'm sure it only picked up one or two satellites.

Haven't had much luck with AVG's Droidsecurity FindR. It worked once, but then when I tried it again, it put me in the Gulf of Guinea off the coast of Africa and I can't get it to refresh.

Haven't tried Lookout yet.

Basically HTCSense.com is a good idea that is still in BETA.  There are lots of features when I log on to it that are not available.  I called HTC and the told me last week the reason it does not work or have the options it shows on their videos is because it is still in BETA.  Well,, to be honest they need to be clear about that and not sell a product based on some future options that might or might not come to pass.  LAME,,,, Bait and switch!  HTCSENSE = FAIL
