I just got the HTC Inspire and I don't know if I set up my hotmail account incorrectly but I can't get emails to send.  I can receive them, but nothing goes out.  Any ideas what the problem may be?  Thanks.

This worked for me, instead of setting it up under pop email i set up it as below;

For mobile phone users, such as iPhone iOS-based, Android-based, Windows Mobile-based, Blackberry-based smartphone and other cell phones which support Exchange account setup, the settings for syncing Hotmail account through Exchange Active Sync is as follow:

Email: username@live.com or username@hotmail.com or username@msn.com
Server Address: m.hotmail.com
SSL: Enabled
Username: username@live.com or username@hotmail.com or username@msn.com
Password: password
Domain: <blank>

set up as pop
use the default values for incoming server

Under the Outgoing Email server settings change the Security type to TLS and the Port to 587.

I'm using this this settings right now and I can get emails and send emails...
But still have a problem a big problem...

when I read a new message on the phone and appears as readed on the phone, you sync the phone with the server and you see it from the server as unreaded. It's suppoust to appears as readed on the server. but that isn't working as they should need to work..

If I read a mail from the cel phone and I do the sync still appears on the server as unreaded. If I read it on the server and sync the phone appears on the phone as unreaded... too bad...

any clue?

Thanks In Advance

I'm having the same problem.  Emails I read on the phone are showing up as unread when I log into hotmail.  Emails I delete on the phone are not getting deleted when I log into hotmail online.  Any suggestions?

I think I found the solution... let me try it first, some persons already told me that works and they are using it without problems, but I still don't do it on my phone yet.

As soon as I get spare time will do it.
