My Fiance broke the screen on my inspire and I wasn't sure if I needed to buy the whole screen or a digitizer. I'm not even sure what a digitizer is.. lol

If you can see the letters, numbers etc on your phone and no black spots, then your lcd is good. the digitizer/glass/touchscreen is obviously broken if it has cracks, doesn't respond or when you touch it on a specific key, another key gets accepted. Thats it.

Just picked up an inspire for a good price, but the LCD screen is bad. I had a G2 some time ago with the same issue, and I switched out the LCD with a replacement one, and everything was good as new.

After viewing some videos, however, this phone seemed to be a pain in the butt. I didn't have to deal with any wires with the G2, and it was all a bunch of removing screws, unplugging these flat and wide plugs, and just pulling the lcd up and out of the device. I haven't seen a video that shows the LCD coming out of the device, because I know for a fact that is what the issue is.

There are no videos for removing the LCD because that is the MOST difficult task and guess what??? most of the time it DOES break or if it gets saved, the bezel breaks. either way, you loose out on the finished look.  I have successfully changes lcd / digitizers on over 40 of these phones and let me tell you, each time i do it, i opt to loose the lcd over the bezel because that part is not available anywhere. Plus, the finished look is more important than a few extra dollars on the lcd.

I have disassembled my HTC Inspire after cracking the digitizer and the LCD screen, but I can't get the new parts assembled. Are the digitizer and LCD glued together? And, then are both pieces glued again to the metal backing? Also, how does the ribbon from the digitizer fit into the slot on the back of the LCD, does it just slide in, because I have tried that but I have excess ribbon sticking up.

Thanks, for the videos!

I had the same problem. I sent mine to inspect UR Gadget. Got it back in working condition. BUT they advertise how fast they are and they return the phone within 24 to 72 hours after receiving, It took them a month to get my phone back to me. I would not recomend them.

You should have sent it to us. Our turn around time is usually between 2-3 business days unless we are unable to obtain parts. Then it may take up to 2 weeks. However, I am happy to hear you got it back in working order from them. Smiley
