(Sorry for the long post  Lips Sealed )

Hi Guys,

So I just got my Inspire 4G on Tuesday. I love it! A lot. My problem is this: I have phone numbers on my SIM card for when I use other phones (I use old-school phones with SIM phone book only) so i get a bunch of duplicate entries when choosing who to send a text to or who to call. I am wondering if there is any way to not display SIM contacts. I know how to do this with "People" but there is the other contacts list that has everyone in it no matter what I do. This is also the one that shows up when searching who to call with the Phone dialer. Kind of annoying having all the duplicates. Any way to totally hide SIM contacts? Or to set texts and the phone dialer to search People and not all contacts?

That is by far the most important question. I have a few more if you guys aren't exhausted already from reading/typing an answer to the above question, haha. What do you do with all of your 7 screens? I can't seem to fill them... 3 are totally empty. Also, what are some good touch-screen game or games that use the level (accelerometer)? Labrynth, Angry Birds, YooNinja and FallDown are my favorites so far (UnblockMe doesn't work on this phone, it crashes). Any other suggestions?

Oh yeah, also: Is there an app that automatically displays embedded email images with the Gmail app? And is there an easier way to get to my home page than having to click More and then Home on the stock browser? Seems kind of retarded that Home is in a submenu.

Thanks Tons  Grin

That is not the answer he already stated that he knew how to change it in people. The problem is when you go to phone to make a call or try and compose a message. All of the contacts on your phone show up.

I would like to know a fix for this as well. I logged into facebook, so know all of my facebook contacts show up. This is very irritating.

I have somewhat of a fix. I exported all of my sim contacts to google. I then set people to only view sim I then deleted all of my contacts off the sim. (they are backed up on google) Now people will not show duplicates anymore. I think for my other problems I have to go to all the other apps and set them to not sync with phone contacts.

Yea I was having the same issue zsmalley. I had all my email addresses synced. If you go to "Settings" then "Accounts & Sync" and click on your Facebook then uncheck "Sync Contacts" that will stop them from syncing but you still need to delete the ones that are already stored on your phone. There is an app that can delete multiple address book entries at one time and is really easy to use and free. It's called "Contact Remover." That's what I used to get rid of all the ones that already had made their way to my phone. Once you delete them and uncheck "Sync Addresses" from the "Accounts & Sync" menu they will not come back.

It doesnt make sense, I'm trying to only have poeple that are in my phonebook already to sync with facebook, but doing that makes all of them show up under people. But the most frustrating thing is when I install facebook I select "Sync data only for friends already in Contacts" and it gives me everybody in people anyway. Every facebook friend that has thier number showing is in people on my phone. I then removed my facebook account and that took care of it. It seems as though I cant "JUST" link the profiles of my friends that are already on my phone.

I am having the same issue too and am very frustrated. It feels like with all of the syncing between email accounts, my previous sim card, and facebook, all of my contacts are scattered everywhere and not synched at all. The worst is having every single friend I have on facebook show up when I try and send a message to someone or call them. The sync with only existing contacts does not work at all. There has to be a solution to this though, I just cannot seem to find it.

I know where the confusion comes in. Facebook acually has a phonebook its called contacts. It has everyone of your FB friends with their phone numbers listed. So whe we select "Sync only with existing contacts" its not talkng about you phone contacts, its talking about your FB contacts. Thats why they still show up.

The problem is there is no option on FB to edit your contacts. So what we need is a FB option to edit contacts or a new option on the app to only sync with contacts on the phone.

Was very confusing to me, someting told me to check facebook and see if it had contacts option. And it does. Click on edit friends and you will see it. No way to edit or filter it. So basically your FB friends decide if they want to be in your phone book.
