Are there any apps available that will allow you to take a screenshot of your phone even if it's not rooted? So far the only ones I have come across are only for rooted devices. I'm not sure whether I'd like to root my phone because I'm pretty sure with my luck once the warranty is voided something will happen! thanks for all your help!

I've already tried downloading shootme and it tells me my phone needs to be rooted in order to use it. Do you know of any other ones? Everything I've searched for tells me I need to be rooted.
thanks!

Shootme doesn't require rooting. It used to but doesn't anymore.

I literally downloaded it an hour ago and when I hit 'agree' for the confidentiality agreement it says (quote):
"Failed starting server. Please check that you have ***ROOT*** access on your device and enabled access to the lower lever graphics."
Does that not mean I need to root my phone?

It is also working on a few of my friends phones that are unrooted. I'm not sure why it's doing that. Is this the only one that you know of that doesn't require rooting?

i think when the last update of shootme came out it required root. so maybe you can find an old copy somewhere on the web.

I honestly wouldn't even know where to start looking on the web lol Edit: rightnow shootme and picme needs the inspire to be rooted you can always do it the long way the SDK..... There's a way to get it without rooting? How can I do that?! I don't understand why android doesn't have an app for screen shots. Even blackberrys do!! And android > blackberry. Ridiculous.

It doesn't because of the way if Android currently functions. Information on how to do it via SDK is located here. Those instructions are for the Evo but should be similar for the Inspire. Please use the edit or modify function instead of posting back to back messages. Thanks.

Xtinaa - I also have an Inspire 4G with AT&T and I just tried the ShootMe app 5 minutes ago and I got the same message. Just to let you know, you're not the only one. Still ISO for a screenshot app or waiting for a new version. I don't want to root my phone yet either. I'm chicken.

Although it did give me a great screenshot, the shot is only on my pc. I want something that if I'm not near home I can get a shot to post or email from where ever I'm at. I do not want to root my phone. Any new ideas?

Go to the market and search for "screenshot" and you will get a few ideas.
