I was playing Pandora in my car, with my Aux input, when a call came in.  I answered it while it was still connected to my stereo, and low and behold, my Inspire switched to speaker mode automatically and I could hear the caller through my car speakers.  I'm not sure if other people knew this, but this is a cool little discovery!

they sell auxiliary cables at many places.... you would just plug it straight into the headphone jack.

It looks like a double headed headphone cable.

Are you able to talk back to them?  I was thinking of getting a bluetooth type stereo but if that works I'm all over it.

Yes. They can hear you. The handset Mic is used just like you were on speakerphone. I do speak louder than normal but I am not sure if that is necessary. I have has no compliaints about echo or anything

I used to do this too with my iPhone and have done it with my Inspire as well.

First you obviously need a radio with an AUX in jack. You also need a 3.5 to 3.5 cable to plug the phone into the radio.

Then it will basically use your speakers in your car as your phone output. Unfortunately, the car does not magically generate a microphone so you still need to talk into the phone, you just don't need to hold it up to your face.

Although, the echo depends on how loud you have your speakers. Obviously if they are loud enough that the sound can travel back to the phone's mic then they will get some feedback.

That's a cool use of this feature as well!  I'll have to try that

Thats interesting...never thought of trying that! How is the sound quality of Pandora when connected that way? How might you compare it to FM an/or Satellite quality?

I tried this the other day....trying to play pandora through my phone but the headphone jack on the phone was too small. Does the headphone plug on the phone take the same size headphones as the ipod?

EDIT

Nevermind it does work. When i was trying it yesterday the plug going into the phone was just a little tough to push in, and i didnt want to break anything so i just said screw it. So I just tried my ipod headphones and they went in, I guess it just had to be broken in. This is awesome though!! Pandora from my phone in the car!!  wink Grin wink Grin

next time use the modify link so you dont double post thanks.

I don't have an aux input on my stereo, but could I use a casette adapter instead?  I'd love to be able to use my car speakers.

Get a stereo FM transmitter 20-30$, cheaper from amazon or e-bay. It plugs into the earphone plugin of the inspire. it's set to a frequency and transmits the signal. Then, you just set your radio to that channel.

What I do is have aux out from headphones jack into aux  in on stereo then have jawbone icon paired via Bluetooth when calls come in pauses pandora(music)  then I talk crystal clear through Bluetooth and no feedback it was best solution other then buying 800$ stereo  call ends music resumes on stereo flawless !!

the problem with fm transmiters in big cities is that you might have a lot of interference, besides those fm transmiters need to be hooked to the cigarrete lighter andd you NEED that for your phone, or they need batteries which is a hassle...
Get the cassette adapter from Kmart for 9.99 or from ebay for 2.99 with free shipping..
I have a Jetta with cassette player and cd changer and works perfect!
