I've seen posts about enabling wireless n.  I was wondering if the Froyo update more easily enabled n?

I have read in a few places that the Ego has wireless N, but it is disabled. Only a rooted Ego can activate is as of 2.1. Does Froyo activate it?

Edit: I have heard that Froyo will enable it also, but nothing official.  If I have it, I would prefer to have a choice to whether I want to have something enabled or not if I buy it. Not have Sprint control features.
