Ok I updated my phone earlier tonight with a few problems.

The voicemail widget on the front page got messed up (removed and replaced seems ok now)
The Sprint tv stuff on the 1st right page got messed up (removed)
The Bluetooth switch is not responding correctly, always has bluetooth on, and I dont have anything bluetooth.
I can no longer attach my Inspire to my computer( Removed SD card, turned usb debugging on and off, downloaded the newest version of HTC sync) the computer sees the phone but the drive is not available, I also no longer get the screen to chose what mode i want when I connect the USB cable.
The UnrInspireked/wifi thethering stopped working as many noticed

I also did another software updatwe search and it says the update is available.  I am not going to install it a 2nd time cause i dont want my phone bricked.

Any help would be great.

Hey,

I had the same initial problem.  All the widgets had problems so I removed them and replaced them and now they seem to work fine.  I didnt have a problem with the bluetooth switch that seems to be working fine.

My Inspire doesn't sync with the computer also I am trying to upload some pictures but it wont let me sync. I haven't tried the unrevoked tethering but we will see.

Wonder if anyone else has heard about updates in regards to these problems.

Thanks,

Do you have HTC Sync installed on the computer you're trying to sync to? Probably a silly question, but best to start from step one. Smiley

Well to start from step one let us open the Settings.

Hit Menu>"Connect to PC">Make sure "Ask Me" is checked and also check the default action.

Let me know where this goes.

Actually more than syncing I am trying to just take the information out of the phone.  Maybe that is what you call syncing?  I did have it installed on my computer at work but it still doesnt work.   The computer at home I never had to install htc sync and it still was able to locate all the information without any problems.

The ask me is always checked.  Thanks.

You can try restarting your computer and restarting your Inspire.

And then try again, see what happens.

Yes I did have the most up to date version of Sync. I downloaded it from the HTC website.

I took the Inspire to sprint who said I was the only person to come in with the update problem. But they did have some spares set aside for anyone who had their phones bricked.

Anyway I downloaded a app manager that put all my apps on the SDcard and they Hard Reset my phone which made everything go back to normal.  It still showed the new update.  I tried to install unrevoked and it still wont open the wifi app.

I dont know if the battery is any better.  I still have a ton of apps opening by themselves that task killer is constantly showing open which I never opened.  I think this is probably a big culprit in the lack of battery life.  Programs like amazon mp3, dialer, maps, etc.  If they are showing in task killer im sure they are burning power somehow.

I reset my phone and computer and everything seems to work fine now.  With the advanced task killer I am now able to use my phone for the whole day without having to charge it vs having to charge my phone at least 3 times a day.  It is true that the amazon mp3 and some of the other apps will pop up every so often even though you kill the task.  And it seems that you cant uninstall those programs because they are part of the phone software or maybe you can?
But so far its working now.  Thanks.

I'm having problems too. I installed the initial update on my first Inspire and it screwed up the 4g connection. It wouldn't connect to 4g when it was in a 4g area. I waited a week and got my new Inspire just 2 days ago and got prompted to intall the update again so I did because I thought it was all supposed to be fixed and now the 4g doesn't connect when in a 4g area again. I went back to sprint and they said there is supposed to be another update to fix this problem, but i was wondering if anyone else had this problem. I've also discovered something really odd. The 4g WILL automatically connect IF I turn off the 3g. It's like for some reason the update has caused 3g to have priority over 4g. Again, has anyone else had this issue and if so do you know of any fixes besides waiting for sprint to come out with an update to fix things??

I have the same issue.  Won't connect to 4G in a known 4G area if 3G is connected.  I did notice it will connect if you turn off 4G and turn it back on in Settings - Wireless & networks.
