This is driving me crazy.  When I go to "people" it doesn't show my facebook contacts, but it does show their profile pictures of the ones that I already have saved on the phone.  But when I press the "phone" button on the main screen and the list of contacts comes up all of my facebook contacts are in there.  I've got the facebook app set to not sync any contacts at all.  I must be overlooking something...

go to people, then menu, then view.unclick facebook

that's already unchecked... It says Facebook(0) and is unchecked

hmmm....


The facebook contacts don't show up in people... only contacts that have their # on facebook it will show their profile pic.  But when I press "phone" and scroll through the contacts there everyone on facebook that are not in my contacts show up.

If I really need someone's # that I don't already have and I'm friends with them on facebook I can just check their profile.... for now it's just cluttering up my phone Sad

Well you synched them on your phone.  If you don't want them on there now you will just have to delete them.  One by one.  wink

have you tried "unlinking" your contacts. On each contact at the top right corner there is a green symbol...if you click it, it will either unlink the person or link the person.

Heres what works for the HTC INSPIRE....go to settings ....accounts & Sync... click on   Facebook .....then remove account.  the facebook icon may still be in your apps if it was pre-installed by your phone company or HTC.  once youve removed the account you can re-install facebook but when you re-install  check  either "sync with existing contacts"  or  "dont sync"  then click finish.
