I have done a few searches on the site to see if I can solve this problem and I can't seem to find a tip that will do the trick.

I save all my contacts to Google, so I never lose them, and whenever I link a contact with their Facebook profile the Facebook profile photo becomes the default.

Here's the steps I have followed without success:
1.  Select "People"
2.  Select the specific contact, let's say Tony.
3.  Press "Menu" and select "Edit Contact"
4.  Select the photo and "Gallery"
5.  Chose my photo for Tony and save.

When I go back to my "People" list there Tony is with his Facebook profile picture...

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Haven't tried it and it may not work but did you turn off facebook contacts sync?

Yeah, I tried that...  I just don't like the FB pic because it's the stupid "no pic" pic.  I would much rather put his face there.

Try:
People,
Choose contact,
Linked,
Profile photo now has drop down beside it,
Choose new default photo in drop down.
This has to be done again every time the contact changes their fb photo.
