Missing status/notification bar and no notifications showing up.

Hi, I got my inspire a couple of weeks ago and noticed that it didn't have the bar when I got it. I looked at the pictures in the guide and other pictures online and they all have it. After looking through settings and having a look around online I have not found a definitive answer. My next port of call is a full system reboot but I don't really want to do that in case it relocks my phone. Any suggestions?

I have trawled through the forum and did not find anything, I apologise if I have missed something.

This might seem late or irrelevant for the poster, but for other who are having this issue and found this page...

  I was having this issue after GB update, I was racking my brains out and then it hit me... pull out the battery and reboot. Not only did my status bar return to normal function, but I also had downloaded an HSUPA patch (non root) which I thought was was not function (I noticed no difference), that now turned into having a minor improvement on my downloading and a major effect on my uploading.  

Moral of the story... before seeking drastic measures to quill minor issues, try a minor fix. In all my years of crack and hacking updating and downgrading, this little idea always slaps me in the face. Happy phreaking/hacking/phoning or whatever you are into.
